The 60's
In 1961, supported by more than 20 years of experience in the glass industry, the first Fanavid factory was built at Rua Maria Marcolina, 112 in São Paulo, with the objective of meeting the demand emerging from the establishment of vehicle manufacturers/assemblers in Brazil.
In 1963, Fanavid was formally inaugurated, with dedication to the production of tempered glass.
The quality of Fanavid products soon conquered the market and the company began to supply important carmakers in Brazil.
Fanavid was the first factory to supply glass to DKV Vemag.
It also supplied its products for Mercedes-Benz trucks and buses, Ford vehicles (Corcel, Galaxy and pick-ups) and GM vehicles (pick-ups and trucks)
With the acquisition of Willys by Ford, Fanavid began to produce glass for the Rural model station wagon and pickups.
It practically supplied windshields and side windows to all bus manufacturers in Brazil including, Caio, Grassi, Striuli, Carbrasa, Metropolitana, Ciferal, Cermava, Cirb, Bons Amigos and Nicola.
Fanavid quickly became the largest glass manufacturer for buses in Brazil.
